The system uses industry standard 5/32” X 2” flat knife steel.

Uplocking wedge knife holding systems have been tried before, but the wedge has always acted directly against the face of the knife. This causes the knife to move from its preset position. To prevent this, expensive corrugated knives are required as well as expensive mating corrugations cut into the head.

The unique patented two-piece wedge and gib prevents movement of the knife as the wedge is adjusted to lock the knives in. The Gib Screws mounted in the wedge bear against the base of the Gib which keeps the Gib and the knife steel from vertical movement. The wedge is forced upwards against the mating wedging surfaces located in the cutter head slot and on the upper portion of the Gib and locking the knife firmly in place.
